Urbanorg, South Carolina Linwood Riddick could have spent his countryman in New York his golden years in Summerville, South Carolina, Diggling Ivory or anything else tickled.
Instead, the owner of the 79 -year -old retired store has spent the past six years in textbooks and withdrew himself to the classroom at South Carolina State University in Urnburg, which is not calm in his endeavor to university education.
“I just went up to the accelerator and did not stop,” Redik told CBS News. “… I was determined to complete what I started.”
To understand the reason for the importance of this, we need to return to 1968, when the protests against the separation were erupted throughout the country.
One of the bloodiest protests occurred at South Carolina State University, where three black students were shot by the police in what became known as Bassem Urbanorg massacre. The three dead Henry Smith, Samuel Hammond Junior and Dylano Middleton. Smith and Hamund were students in SCSU, and Middleton was a high school student who worked her mother at the university.
More than twenty demonstrators were injured.
Nine highway patrols in Carolina in South Carolina were charged with shooting, but they were all acquitted.
Linwood Riddik never heard about the OrangeBurg massacre even a few years ago when he stumbled into a memorial to the campus. He says he knows correctly what he was doing.
“I said, as you know, I am coming here … because I want to put my contributions to their sacrifices,” said Reddick. And when I get my testimony, you will be in their name. “
“On his mind, he was completing his mission.” “… he started here in 2019 with Zero credits, as you know, driving from Summerville every day, that is, nearly an hour to class and return home.”
This patience and perseverance earned him a Bachelor’s degree in the music industry. Earlier this month, he walked across the theater to standing.
But the most important walk was not yet, one of them was done alone and without any pift or circumstance to install the Orangeburg massacre.
However, it was the fully Reddick mission. Although it started as a symbolic gesture, Christians say it has a very real effect.
“Mr. Reddick has brought this to the forefront of this university, for this state, to remind us of our official duty, never forget.”
