Yaron Lesinski and Sarah Lin Melgerim, an employee of the Israeli embassy, were killed outside an event at the Jewish Museum in Washington, DC, on Wednesday evening, according to Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar.
The young couple was not diplomats, but instead Lynnesky was a researcher in the political division of the Israeli embassy, and Milgram organized American duties to Israel.
“The couple who were shot tonight was about to engage,” Yechiel Leiter, the Israeli ambassador to the United States, said during the press conference. “The young man bought a ring this week with the intention of proposing next week in Jerusalem.”

Ron Prosor, the Israeli ambassador to Germany and a friend of Lischinsky, described the two victims as “two young couple with a bright future planning their lives.”

Boy Lesinsky
Lesinsky, who was born in Nuremberg, Germany, was Christian, and “a true lover of Israel” chose to devote his life to the State of Israel and the Zionist issue. He said on x.
During his work during the past two years as an assistant researcher at the Israeli embassy in Washington, DC, Lesinski was responsible for “keeping the section updated in important events in the Middle East North Africa, conducting research on the topics of the interest of our diplomatic employees, contacting other diplomatic missions, and preserving relations with a local and assistance research community LinkedIn profile.
He obtained a master’s degree in government, diplomacy and strategy from Reichmann University in Herzelly and Israel and a Bachelor’s degree in international relations and Asian studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was fluent in English, Hebrew and German.
He wrote in his profile that he moved from Germany to Israel when he was 16 years old and was “the concession of contact with Jerusalem and Nortolding in my house.”
Prosor said Lischinsky also served in the Israeli Defense Forces for a period of three years.

Sarah Lin Melgerim
Milgrim worked at the Ministry of General Diplomacy of the Embassy for about two years, starting in November 2023, according to it LinkedIn profile.
She described herself as a “dynamic professional”, saying that her passion lies “at the intersection of building peace, religious participation and environmental work. She was an American citizen, according to Associated Press.
Before her time at the embassy, I worked in Tel Aviv for Tech2peceWhich “provides high -tech training and entrepreneurship as well as a dialogue of the conflict on Palestinians and Israelis,” according to its website.
Milgrim has two degrees of Master – one in international affairs from the American University and another in natural resources and sustainable development from the Peace University in Costa Rica – and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Kansas University, according to its personal file.
