When the army celebrates its 250th birthday on June 14, a date that coincides with the seventy -ninth birthday of President Donald Trump, the streets of Washington, DC, will be filled with march forces, tanks in World War II and helicopters during the war in Vietnam.
It will also be in the width 34 hp, two gallons, one cart and a dog.
Colonel Camille Sztalkoper, a spokesman for the III Corps, said the dog is a blue heel (also known as an Australian cattle dog) called “Doc Holleday”-probably a reference to the famous Val Kilmer weapon in the movie “Tombstone”.
This Australian livestock dog, called “Doc Holiday”, will participate in the celebration of the US Army’s 250th birthday on June 14, 2025, in Washington, DC

DOC joined the secession of the Knights weapon in the first Knights division in Fort Cavazos, Texas, more than two years ago, as a young Juru, said Sztalkoper. Part of the unit, which is mostly used in societal events, is a cart pulled by mules. DOC ride in the back of the cart.
“This is not something for him. He used to the marches,” said Sztalkoper. While Doc is “definitely in the sweet and fun category, Sztalkoper said he” knows his place well when the time comes. “
DOC and its unity plans to leave Texas on June 10 so that they can reach Washington in time to participate in the army procession after four days.
DOC’s flight to the nation’s capital is part of a tremendous effort by the army – and Trump – to celebrate the birthday of service with a festival and a week -old for about 6,700 soldiers. Planning for the celebration was under implementation for about two years, according to officials. It was not until this year after the opening of Trump, however, officials began exploring options to make the event larger with a show.
Trump sought a military parade during his first term, but the effort was canceled after the costs amounted to 90 million dollars.
The final cost of this year’s event is unknown. While the army is estimated to spend up to $ 45 million to deploy forces and equipment, the celebration is expected to require great safety on an equal footing with a wide -ranging event such as Super Bowl or the installation of the presidency.
Although army officials said that there are no plans for any of the seven teams participating in the show to sing a “happy birthday” of Trump, the golden knights will demonstrate the minus pieces in the White House and present to the president a folded American flag. After the show, Trump will also manage the constitutional oath to 250 army recruits.
“It is a lot of money, but I think this amount of money exceeds 250 years of service and sacrifice that American soldiers have given this country,” said the army spokesman Steve Warren.
“We are looking at this as an opportunity to enhance the relationship between America and its army,” he added. “So, yes, it’s a lot of money, but it diminishes compared to what we sell.”
This event is not the first military procession in Washington, although it is likely to be the largest. During the era of President George Herpeter Bush, the US military held a victory procession in June 1991 after the Persian Gulf War.

Army officials said that the show was designed to tell the history of the army, starting with forces wearing the revolutionary war costume. With the display entering the era of World War II, the forces will run alongside the pocket of the period and the M4 Sherman tank while the B-25 Mitchell Bomber, the Skytrain Douglas C-47 and four from North America P-51 Mustang Fight-Bombers. The most modern conflicts will be represented with the U-1 Huey, AH-1 CoBRA, AH-64 Apache and Chinook Helicopters.
The show also included 28 M1 Abrams, 28 Stryker vehicles and four-PALADIN self-defense.
On Wednesday, the army began loading tanks on rail cars from its base in Fort Cavazos to take a trip to Washington, DC, later this month. The tanks will be shipped to Jessop, Maryland, before loading them on the trucks and pushing them to a starting area in Washington near the Lincoln Memorial Monument.
