Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Corsak region for the first time since Russia said it had expelled the Ukrainian forces from the region in April.
The Kremlin said on Wednesday that Putin visited Kursk on the border with Ukraine the day before.
Ukrainian forces made Sudden incursion In August 2024 in the largest cross -border raid by Kiev’s forces in a war of nearly two years, before the Russian forces came out after nine months. Ukraine has not confirmed its expulsion from the region.
Putin visited the Kursk Nuclear Energy Station 2, which is still under construction, and spoke at a closed meeting with chosen volunteers. The Acting Governor Alexander Khintansin also told the Kremlin to support the idea of continuing monthly payments for displaced families who are still unable to return to their homes.
The indispensable population has previously demonstrated their rejection due to the lack of compensation in the rare organized protests.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that its air defenses shot down 159 Ukrainian drones across the country overnight, including 53 on the Uriol region and 51 on the Brigansk region.
