Jin Hackman’s death pushed many in his wonderful career and in many of his best performances. Among those wonderful offers is his work as if he was Royal Tennbum in Wes Anderson Royal TenbauumsBut now, the director provides new details about how Hackman was hesitant to sign the project.
Anderson said in New interview with The TimesHe explained that Hakman was reluctant to take a fixed fee for the film. “He was angry. Also, he didn’t want to do the film anyway. I spoke to him – I didn’t go far.”
Anderson said he adopted this model in his previous movie, SprayWhen Bill Murray agreed to work with the same amount of Jason Schwarchitan, who was younger and less found at the time. “He said he would do the film and offer work on the same amount as Jason – the child,” Anderson explained. He said, “I will take what he is eating, but I must be able to leave a golf championship.”
Hakman was the only member in Royal Tenbauums Driving to put a battle around the wage structure. Anderson said: “Everyone said yes to the salary, so Jin has just went – and that became just our way.”
The director also said that he was not in contact with the late actor after he concluded the filming.
“Not a word,” Anderson said. “In fact, he left without saying goodbye. He was angry – we had friction. He didn’t enjoy it. Maybe I was very young and it was annoying to him.”
