“It was a mistake” for the Democrats to allow atmosphere to stay in the presidential race for the year 2024 as long as he did so, echoing the recent comments from other Democrats while the party calculates its repercussions of new reports on the president’s mental intensity.
“By 2024, the American people decided that they wanted a new person. They wanted a younger person,” Murphy told “NBC News” “Meet the Press”.
“It was a mistake,” said Senator. “It was a mistake that the Democrats would not listen to the voters earlier and create an operation that had made us in a situation that could be more competitive in that.”
Murphy’s comments come a few days before Axios from Axios from Axios from Jake Tapper from CNN, which includes interviews with people in Madar Biden who say they have seen his mental state decreased while taking over as president.
It also comes after Axios has published the full interview between Biden and the Robert Robert, who achieved whether Biden stored the classified documents incorrectly after his time as vice president in the Obama administration.
The interview, which was conducted in October 2023, led to Hoor’s confirmation in a report issued in February 2024, which shows his decision not to accuse Biden that the former president was “an elderly man with a bad memory.” The newly released voice for the interview confirmed that Biden’s memory deviations while interrogating Hor.
On Sunday, Murphy defended Biden, saying that he had not read the book “The original sin”, but he worked with the former president closely in the legislation in 2023 and “I saw a president who was controlling.”
“This is my experience,” Murphy added. “But I admit that by 2024, the American public had decided, rightly, that they wanted the Democratic Party to nominate a new person, and it was absolutely wrong for the party to listen to these voters.”
However, Murphy admitted that “we all bear responsibility” for how the elections appear, with President Donald Trump’s return to the White House for a second period after beating the then President Kamala Harris.
“I think, as you know, perhaps we have not listened early as we should have, partly, because we have a tremendous loyalty to this man who led this country from a pandemic, and who may have been the most fragile legislator as president,” Murphy said, “Meeting the press.”
“In the end, in the end, you cannot defend what the Democratic Party did,” the Senator added, saying that the country is now “stuck” with Trump and “we should have given ourselves a better chance to win.”
Ultimately, in July 2024, Biden stepped down from his campaign to re -elect him, and soon Harris and cleansing the way to accept democratic nomination weeks after the Democratic National Congress.
But Murphy said on Sunday that the open preliminary elections would have benefited from the party’s prospects.
“In the past, the president should have left the race earlier,” he said. “There is no doubt that the Democratic Party was better to have the ability to obtain open introductory elections. Kamala Harris may have done a good performance in this process, but in the past, we lost.”
He echoed his remarks made by Senator Amy Klopuwshar, Die Men, “The Press Meeting” last week, as Wilker told, “Yes, we would have been best served by the introductory elections. But we are where we are.”
In “this week” of ABC, MP Ro khanna, D-Calif made a similar point.
“See, the Democratic Party must be honest,” said Khanna. ))
