The family representative told CBS News that George Windt, the comedian and actor known as the beloved as Norm on “Heaters”, had died. It was 76.
Wind, a citizen of Chicago and actor Jason Sodikis, died in peace at home early on Tuesday morning, according to his family.

“George was a wavy family man, a beloved and close friend of all those lucky enough to get to know him,” said the family statement. “He will miss him forever.”
Wendt was the most known to play Norm Peterson on the comic play of NBC “Cheers”, which lasted from 1982 to 1993. The round earned him six consecutive nominations for EMMY Awards.
He has been married to his colleague, actor Bernadette Berkit since 1978.
In 2024, Wind and some “chant” crew were collected at the 75th Emmy Awards, including Ted Danson, Raya Birman, Kelissi Granmer and John Ratzinbreger.

After his popularity on the comedy, Wind continued the starring role in his own presentation, “The George Wendt Show”, in 1995. The series ended with less than 10 episodes, but Windd continued acting and appeared in many TV programs and films, including “SABRINA The Teenage Witch” and “Saturday Night Live”.
