Democratic Representative Jerry Conoli died from Virginia, his office announced on Wednesday morning. He was 75 years old.
“It is very sad that we share that our loyal father, love, husband, friend and public official, Gerald Honoli, died in peace in his home this morning surrounded by the family.”
Konoli has worked in Congress since 2009. He has been a champion of federal workers, who has returned in recent months against the Trump administration and Elon Musk’s reform of the government.
His family said: “We were lucky with Jerry’s participation with Northern Virginia for nearly 40 years because that was his joy, his goal, and his passion. His absence will leave a hole in our hearts, but we are proud that his life will continue for future generations.”
Representative Jerry Honoli will attend the hearing of the House of Representatives Bases Committee on the procedures for coming votes in the American Capitol, June 28, 2021 in Washington.

Only last month, Honoli said he was reluctant to the highest democratic position in the affected parliament supervision committee because his cancer had returned. Konoli defeated Alexandria in New York Alexandria Osasiz to the chairman of the committee in December.
He was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in November.
“When I announced his diagnosis six months ago, transparency promised,” he said in his statement last month. “After exhausting treatments, we learned that cancer, while beating at first, came back now. I will do his best to continue your representation and thank you for your grace.”
