Fire officials said on Thursday that a small plane crashed in the San Diego neighborhood on Thursday morning, as a large fire began and caused a damage of at least 15 houses and multiple cars.
Officials are working to get everyone out of the neighborhood, and they will return home to the house to see if anyone inside, said the head of the San Diego fire operations at a press conference, indicating that it is “like a cinematic scene.”
Eddie said that the plane directly hit multiple homes and cars, and put it on the fire, before running on the street.
Eddie said that no patients have been transferred yet, as officials are looking to find out if anyone inside the affected area.
The small private plane crashed seconds before landing around 3:45 am. Local time, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The plane was flying from Whitchita to Montegtemen’s executive airport when it crashed. It was about 500 feet in the air at the last radar access record, according to FAA.
“The Cesana 550 car was destroyed near the Montegtemen-Peps Executive Airport in California, around 3:45 of the time of the contract on Thursday, May 22nd. The number of people on board the plane is unknown at this time,” the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.
The residents were directed to avoid the area near Sculpin and Santo Road while the crews work.
