Washington – National Public Radio and three local stations filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against President Donald Trump, on the pretext that an executive order aimed at cutting the federal financing of the organization illegal.
The lawsuit, which was filed in the Federal Court in Washington by NPR, Colorado Public Radio, says, ASPEN PUBLIC RADIO and Kute, Inc. Trump’s executive order to reduce public subsidies to PBS and NPR violate the first amendment.
Trump issued the executive decree earlier this month, which guides the company for public broadcasting and other federal agencies “stopping federal funding for NPR and PBS” and requires that work to eradicate the sources of indirect general financing for news organizations. Trump issued the matter after he claimed a “bias” in the reports of broadcasters.
