On Monday, President Donald Trump doubled his request to obtain a list of the names of international students registered at Harvard University, another escalation in the face of his administration with the university.
In a post on social media on Sunday, Trump claimed that a third of students at the Massachusetts Institute are foreign countries and “some are not ever friendly to the United States.”
“We want to know who these foreign students are, a reasonable request because we give Harvard billions of dollars, but Harvard University is not completely coming. We want these names and countries,” he wrote.
Trump repeated the request on Monday, while also threatening to withdraw more federal funds from the university.
“Harvard is very slow to display these documents, and perhaps for a good reason!” Trump wrote on a conservative social media platform.
ABC News arrived at Harvard to comment.
In a former publication on Monday, the president said he was considering re -allocating $ 3 billion in federal scholarship funds from Harvard University to commercial schools. “What a wonderful investment will be for the United States of America, and it needs a bad thing !!!” Trump wrote.

Trump’s demand for international students studying at Harvard University comes after the judge temporarily prevented his administration from canceling the school’s ability to register students from foreign countries.
The judge said on Friday that the university showed that it would “maintain an immediate injury and cannot be repaired” if the certificate of the student and the stock exchange program (SEVP) is canceled. They issued a temporary restriction order for the administration and set a session on Tuesday on the next steps in the case.
Last week, Internal Security Security Christie Nayyim wrote to Harvard that she lost the “concession” to register international students as a result of what she described as the school, “refusing to comply with multiple requests to provide information related to the security of the homeland.”
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Internal Security has already contains the information and exchange information database (Sevis). according to The enforcement of immigration and customs, and the “Paths and Monitoring” database schools that occupy the position of SEVP as well as students who come to the United States for their presence.
In April, Naim called for handing the school information about the “well -known” “well -known” students illegal “visa”, violent activity, or threats for students or faculty members, or disciplinary measures that have been taken as a result of participating in the protest, and information about whether the student had hindered the school learning environment and the training course made by the student to maintain the decade state.
In last week’s speech to Harvard, Nayywan stated that the university can restore its ability to host international students if it provides records of international students within 72 hours.
Harvard says she complied with the government’s request.
“Despite the unprecedented nature and the scope of demand on April 16, and the absence of any clear authority for most requests, Harvard worked hard to collect and produce the information that must be preserved and reported under the SEVP program,” the school wrote last week when it filed a lawsuit against the administration.
