Police said at least 11 people were taken to the hospital on Sunday night in a shooting in the South Carolina Beach.
The Hururi Provincial Police Department said in a statement that more victims will be transferred to medical facilities in private vehicles after the shooting of the Little River community. The circumstances of the injured were not available.
The police described the investigation as “active” and “continuous”.
The police said: “Community personnel are advised to stay away from the area, and public safety employees do their job.”
Martel Beach police said in a separate statement that a northern Mertel Beach police officer, who was responding to fire, was injured when he was accidentally fired. The ministry said that the officer, who suffered from a leg wound, settled in the hospital.
The police said that the shooting at 10 pm was wasolated from its original location near the inner waterway. “There is no danger to society at this time,” they said.
It was not clear what led to violence or whether more than the shooter might be involved.
Little River is a community of more than 11,000 people along the Greater South Carolina coast square and near the border with North Carolina.
The city is famous for hunting covenants in the depths of the seas, cruises for boats and casino boats. It is about 25 miles northeast of Mertel Beach.
