Four of the Six Family Clinics in Iowa and four in Minnesota said in one year, according to the Western Midwesture on Friday, and blamed the freezing of federal funds, the proposed budget discounts in Congress and the state’s restrictions on abortion.
The closed clinics in the state of Iowa include the only planning family planning facility in the state that provides abortion procedures, Ames, the home of Iowa State University. Others are in Cedar Rapids, Siox City and Undandil de Mine.
There are two clinics that are closed by the US Central Family Organization in the Minynabolis region, in Apple Valley and Richevild. Others are in the center of Minnesota in Alexandria and Pimidji. Of the four, the Retevild Clinic provides miscarriage procedures.
The planned family organization said it would exclude 66 employees and ask 37 additional employees to move to different clinics. The organization also said it is planning to continue investing in distance medicine services and see almost 20,000 patients annually. The subsidiary company serves five states – Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
“We have fought to adhere to an unsustainable infrastructure with the attack of the attacks,” said Roth Richardson, President and CEO of the affiliate company.
Of the 15 clinics run by the Northern Family Company, six abortion procedures – five of which are in Minnesota, will be provided, including three in the Minynabolis region. The other clinic is in Omaha, Nebraska.
The subsidiary said that in April, the administration of President Donald Trump froze $ 2.8 million in Mainisota’s federal funds to provide birth control and other services, such as cervical cancer offers and testing sexually transmitted diseases.
Although federal funds cannot be used for most miscarriages, abortion opponents have long argued that companies affiliated with the plan should not receive any taxpayer dollars, saying that the money still indirectly asserting the abortion services.
The United States, planned in the central northern states, also cited the suggested cuts in Medicaid, which provide health coverage for low -income Americans, as well as the Trump administration’s proposal to eliminate the financing of adolescence prevention programs.
In addition, the state of Iowa banned by Republicans last year, most of the abortion operations after about six weeks of pregnancy, before many women knew that they were pregnant, caused the number to decrease there by 60 % in the first six months, and the law was valid and increased the number of patients traveling to Minnesota and Nebraska significantly.
After the closure, the planned states of the northern United States will operate 10 brick clinics and mortars in Minnesota, two in Iowa, and two in Nebraska, and one in South Dakota. Do not manage anything in the Northern Dakota, although MooRhead, Minnesota, the clinic is located across the red river of Fargo, North Dakota.
