The fire destroyed Claporen TempleInvestigators said on Wednesday that a historical black church in the center of Memphis was the point of organizing the final campaign of Martin Luther King Junior in 1968, which was intentionally appointed.
The Memphis Fire Department said that the fire on April 28 began in the inner part of the church, and the authorities are looking for an important person. In the church, Gina Swiss Swiss, President of Momvis Fire Swiss, described the church as a “complete loss.”
The Fire Department also released pictures of the person they were looking for on Wednesday, but they did not provide other details.
The authorities said that a cash reward of $ 11,000 is provided for information related to the massive fire.
The Ministry of Fire said on May 14 that the building had settled and that researchers would use specialized equipment to study the issue of the fire.
It is located south of the famous Bell Street, Claporen Temple It was built in 1892 as the second sheikh’s church and originally served a whole white group. In 1949, the building was sold to an African Methodist Episcopal Group and gave its current name.
Before the fire, it was in the midst of a $ 25 million restoration project aimed at preserving the architectural and historical integrity of the Romanian Revival Church, including the revival of a large member of 3000 tubes. The project also seeks to help stimulate the neighborhood through the museum, cultural programming and communication with society.
