Openai is completely IO, a joint venture last year with Jony Ivee, the famous British designer behind the elegant industrial aesthetic that identified iPhone and more than two decades of Apple products.
In a 10 -minute video posted on X on Wednesday, Samnman, CEO of Openai, said “Creative Communication” from Apple Pioneer will merge with Openai to work more intimate with research, engineering and products in San Francisco. Openai says it pays $ 5 billion of stocks to get IO.
The promotional video included technology reflections from both IVE and Altman, which was placed against the background of a gold watch in the streets of San Francisco, but the two are never participating in it. “We look forward to sharing our work next year,” says a text at the end of the video. Given the pair’s focus on building an artificial intelligence agency, IVE is in Apple, it is likely to be a producer facing the consumer.
Io launched last spring as part of a joint venture between Openai and Ive’s Design Lovefrom. In the fourth quarter of last year, IO and Openai entered an official agreement for Openai to obtain a 23 percent stake in IO. Now Openai buys the entity directly.
The merger is a little complicated. The IO team consisted of 55 people before this announcement. Now it will expand to include both IO and Openai – Hardware engineers, software, physicists, scientists, and “experts in developing and manufacturing products”, according to a blog on the Openai website. IVE and lovefrom are running the creative design process. Openai says IVE will remain independent, and Lovefrom will continue to work for his company as a separate entity. Instead, IO will submit a report to Peter Winer, Vice President of Openai, who has worked in Openai for eight and a half years.
The IO team founded main design slices. Behind IVE, among the founders Evans Hanki and Tang Tan, who worked at Apple. Those who worked closely with them say they are known for employing people who believe they are exceptional taste.
By bringing IVE, Openai is probably seen as one of the most ambitious artificial intelligence devices project so far. A number of other major technology companies, including Meta and Google, have tried to develop intelligent powers such as smart glasses in recent years, but the prevailing adoption of technology was slow, and some devices have been afflicted with defects.
Humane, the start of the other prominent Amnesty International devices founded by the former Apple employees, for the first time in a device that could be worn in late 2023. The joint effort was pushed between Altman and IVE through developments in artificial intelligence and also the authority account. In the blog post, Openai wrote that “computers are now seeing, thinking and understanding.”
