President Trump, in an event at the Oval Office, received several questions about his phone call earlier on Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In response to a question if he had asked Putin to meet with Ukraine, Trump said: “Yes, of course I did. I talked to him about that. I said:“ When will we finish this, Vladimir? “
“I have long known now,” Trump continued. “I said,” When will we finish this bloodshed, this is a bloodbath? “It is a bloodbath.
Trump was pressed if he stood alongside his previous comments that nothing will happen until he and Putin meet, given that there are no major breakthroughs as a result of the call that lasted on Monday’s hours.
“I think something will happen,” Trump said. “It is a very big arrogance concerned, I tell you, great arrogance involved. But I think something will happen. If not, I am retracting and they have to continue again. This is a European situation. It should have remained a European situation.”
