The Trump administration decided to allow the sale of devices that enable standard firearms to shoot, such as the machine gun, a step in which one person familiar with the matter said was “the most dangerous thing that this administration has done” to the weapon policy.
On Friday, the Ministry of Justice announced a settlement in a lawsuit filed by the National Association for Weapons Rights. The lawsuit was stabbed at the ATF base, which prohibits “re -setting forced issues” – devices that allow semi -automatic weapons to shoot fast shots.
“The Ministry of Justice believes that the second amendment is not a second degree,” Public Prosecutor Pamela Bondi said in a statement. “We are happy to end a loop of litigation with a settlement that enhances public safety.”
Vanessa Gonzalez, a spokeswoman for Jeffords, condemned the National Group for Violence led by former MP Gabriel Jeffords, this step.

The move comes after the majority of judges appeared in the fifth district of the American Appeals Court with the Arms Rights Group during the oral arguments in the case in December. Since forced re -setting devices will not be considered firearms, they can be purchased unknown, without a background or an age examination. The machine gun has been illegal in the United States since 1986, the idea that even the arms rights groups have been accepted.
There were many lawsuits on the prohibition of forced re -appointment, and the judges of the lower court issued rulings that fell on both sides of the question. Assuming that the fifth circle ruled against the embargo, the case may end before the Supreme Court.
But the Trump administration is now giving up the effort to restrict devices. ATF, a former senior official, criticized this step and expected that the courts had supported a prohibition on the reassurance of the operator.

Settlement “forever”

Some of the most popular versions of forced re -appointment are made by a company called Rare Breed, which were prosecuted by ATF in a separate state. One of the people familiar with it said.
A press release said that the settlement “includes high -safety conditions in a great way in terms of FRTS, including that the rare strain will not develop or design FRTS for use in any pistol and will implement patents to prevent violation that may threaten public safety. A rare breed also generates the enhancement of safe use of its products.”
Supporters of the devices that forced the reset of standard weapons are opposed to machine guns. But ATF decided that the devices allow the AR-15 gun to fire to shoot the fastest M-16 military in the automatic situation, according to court records.
