Johnson’s deception call strategy reaches its maximum
Written by Sahil Kapoor
The spokesman for the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, arrived in the smooth sailing to a sudden end on Friday when it faced the first concrete setback in the draft law of a huge party for President Donald Trump’s business schedule-a failed vote in the House of Representatives Budget Committee.
So far, Johnson has succeeded in directing the plan through the tightly divided house. There was the original budget framework adopted by the House of Representatives in February, followed by the scheme approved by the Senate that the lower room passed in April, despite strong reservations by militants at the Johnson Conference. This allowed the council to actually start formulating the details of the legislation. This week, Johnson and his leadership team managed to obtain 11 home committees to approve parts of the wider package.
Then the legislation was sent to the Budget Committee, assuming that some reviews are still necessary to send them to the full room next week before the deadline of Johnson on the anniversary.
During this process, Johnson often called Bluff to constantly control a group of right -wing extremist falcons, forcing them to take votes and assuming that they will not be ready to stand on the way to Trump’s agenda. It is a strategy that has proven successful and repeatedly successful.
But on Friday, four governors in the Budget Committee had enough, followers of their pledge to prevent the procedure from reaching the land of the house. He criticized the bill to use budget tricks to activate its benefits immediately and postpone painful discounts for years. They noticed that the multi -dollar package will explode national debts.
Now the moment comes. And the borders of the Republican majority, where the party has only three voices to spare it, is about to test Johnson’s ingenuity as it has not happened before.
Alternately demands that spending discounts on medicaid, financing clean energy and other programs are valid sooner. This means imposing political pain on the legislators of the weak Republican party before the upcoming presidential elections – perhaps even before the middle of the 2026 period – and the swinging areas are at risk.
But if Johnson fails to fulfill their demands, are the hard -line readys ready to completely flood the bill? Or that their vote on Friday is more than a symbolic protest to obtain negotiating influence? Certainly, they will hear from Trump if they continue. (Before the Friday committee voted, Trump summoned the “trainers” on the Republican Party Social truth))
The speaker also feels pressure from another angle of the conference. At least four Republicans in New York threaten to reduce the entire draft law in the House of Representatives hall, unless the party leaders expand the local tax deduction (Salt), which is the number of current legislation at $ 30,000. This demand caused panic among other Republicans, who are largely representing areas where salt is not used greatly.
Even if Johnson directed the package through the room, the Republicans of the Senate have already notified the House of Representatives that the legislation will not pass the upper chamber without major changes.
Until the following: On Sunday at 10 pm, the Parliament Budget Committee is scheduled to vote again on the draft law.
Pence says it is a “bad idea” for Trump to accept a Qatari plane to use as the air weapon
By Bridge Bowman
On Friday, former Vice President Mike Pines said that President Donald Trump should not accept a luxury plane from Qatar for use as the upcoming air forces, and told “Meet The Press” that it was “Meet the Press” that this step will raise security and constitutional interests.
“We must first remember who is Qatar. We have a military base there. I have members of our direct family that spread in the region,” Pence said.
“But Qatar has a long history of playing both sides,” Pines said in the exclusive interview at his home in Indiana. “They support Hamas. They have supported al -Qaeda. Qatar has already funded pro -welding protests in American universities throughout the United States.”
Pence added that accepting the plane as the following air force “does not correspond to our security, with our intelligence needs. I hope that the president will restore it.”
Pence added that there are “very real constitutional issues,” noting that part of the constitution prevents public officials from accepting gifts from a foreign government.
“I think it is just a bad idea, and I hope the president will think better,” Penis said.

✉ Mailbag: Trump against Congress (and courts)
Thanks to everyone who is sent to us via email! This week’s question comes from Polly Moore:
“How can Trump Devon programs created by Congress, such as Public TV and National Public Radio?”
To answer this, we turned into a legal affairs correspondent Gary Grombash. This is his response:
President Donald Trump is trying to indicate programs created by Congress, but he strikes road barriers almost every time. Because this is the thing – there are legal ways to calm the programs created by Congress.
This happens every year when the budget process begins, with inputs from the side of the corridor in both the two rooms. But Congress, under law, should participate in this process. It is when they are not, and when the program is stripped beyond its levels delegated in Congress, we start seeing legal actions that are taken.
This legal procedure was quickly and angry. Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Corporation for Public Broadcasting sued all Trump administration attempts to calm or dismantle their created and financing organizations by congressional credits.
But it was not an easy way. As today, the Court of Appeal has temporarily prevented the minimum court that would restart funding and return Voice of America and Radio Free EUROPE, while appeals are ongoing.
