New York – An explosion on a boat carrying sewage that was on the Hudson River in New York City was killed a long time ago.
Another worker in the city’s Hunts Point ship and was transferred to the hospital after the explosion at approximately 10:30 am near the wastewater treatment plant in the northern river. A third worker refused medical treatment.
The cause of the explosion was under investigation, but the mayor of New York City Eric Adams said in a statement that the criminal intent was not suspected. The American Coast Guard on social media said that men on the boat, which takes raw wastewater from the city to be treated, were doing a work that includes flames or sparks when the explosion occurred.
New York Police said that the first respondents found a 59 -year -old man who was conscious in the river.
The man was a long time employee in the city’s Ministry of Environmental Protection. His name was not launched, but the mayor said that “a loyal government employee has provided 33 years of service to New York City, and our hearts go out to his family, friends and colleagues during this painful time.”
Sims said that the explosion spread raw sewage on the roof of the boat, and the vaccination of firefighters and other respondents had to be removed. DEP said that no environmental effects appear after the explosion.
